Ocean Beach, California holds a special place in my heart.  I spent the first six years of my life chillin there. I went to OB Elementary and learned to surf with my dad and brothers in the shadows of the iconic OB Pier. I started playing guitar while living there.

For those who have never been to this small beach community near San Diego, it is magical place filled with every personality type on the planet. Weirdos, professionals, burn outs, street performers, painters, dreamers and surfers all rubbing elbows. Everyone is welcome.

Dog Beach on the north end of town is dedicated to letting dogs run free. I learned to ride a bike in the parking lot and watched quite a few dogs learn to surf.

At the south end of town are the Sunset Cliffs looking out over endless barrels of cold green waves.

The annual street parade cruises down Newport Ave to the OB Pier where the 4th of July fireworks show is held. It was always a double treat since I could see the reflections of the explosions in the water as well as the sky. It was a happy time to be me.
